Spokane Elks Lodge #228

Veterans Day Dinner November 10, 2024

The long history of the Elks and Veterans support was the main theme of our program.

Ready for our Guests.

Jaye Nordling - Americanism Chairman
and major Lodge Officer in charge.

As you can see, we had a great crowd.

Two local Scout troops presented the American Flag and then the individual service flags.   Each Veteran received a military challenge "Thank You Coin" and a Stars for Our Troops from the Elks. Additionally, the scouts presented handmade key chains featuring grommets from properly disposed of American flags.

Our favorite ladies barbershop quartet, the Aca'Bellas sang each service song.  This prompted each veteran to stand honoring their service.

At the end of the ceremony, a professional bugler played Taps. Thanks to all that set up, decorated, prepared dinner and participated in the ceremony. The best yet, said Phyllis Porter!
