Spokane Elks Lodge #228

Lakeland Village Christmas Party 2025

Lakeland Village Residents Christmas Party

A group of our members and other performing guests, again ventured to Lakeland Village to entertain the residents at their annual Christmas Party. We always engage a regular tour bus from Alpha-Omega in order to have room for our drums, musical instruments, and sound equipment in the luggage area.
Which means there were many empty seats on that bus that would have accommodated several more of our members for an enjoyable and inspirational evening. Another excellent opportunity missed, for some of you to participate in an event that occurs every year in early December.

This trek has a long history and is said to have been happening for over 100 years. Back in the days when Elks Lodge #228 entertained with a concert orchestra, to present day when a small group of our members and other volunteers entertain with guitars, drums, and vocals. (We even have a ‘washtub bass’ for which we found that Paul Ryan has a unique talent.)
We begin with a selection of traditional Christmas Carols and progress into some Country Rock that gets the excitement level into high gear.
What a moving and gratifying feeling to see both Village staff members and those residents who are mobile, up dancing to the loud rythym of ‘Johnny B. Goode.’ Elvis’s ‘Hound Dog’ is another perennial Crowd favorite.
